I can hardly wait until I'm finished stuffing one of my dolls so I can move to my FAVORITE part - the embellishing. Boy, I can lost in hours with that. But after a while of stuffing my new-to-be creation, my hands hurt getting all the fiberfill in the little nooks and crannies. After trying to think of alternatives, none of which I was very happy with, I came across this technique. It also stuffs the doll firmer, too, which I like in some instances. <br />

I've always loved these little felt houses I found on the Internet and was so inspired by this one designer especially, that I decided to craft my own. I don't know the name of designer but the homes she makes just captured my heart. I want to make a few more to hang on my tree next year. How quaint and charming is this? I do plan on adding a few green beads below the heart for a little contrast. </div><div><br></div><div>I'd like to thank all the artists and crafters who inspire the rest of us! </div>SweetErGalleryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06444882953504391324noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5388357794637320002.post-9929140005866723702016-07-09T16:18:00.001-04:002016-07-09T16:18:57.619-04:00Aim for Rejection or Perfection? <div style="text-align: center;"><img id="id_5ca_d945_126b_9bee" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-NYry20Br_WI/V4FcMJQvMkI/AAAAAAAACq4/EUMTTUNov0s/%25255BUNSET%25255D.png" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"> <br></div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div>Are you a reject? <i>No</i>? On the flip side, for the other times, when they actually DO have experience and insight, it helps us get better at what we're doing ourselves. powerful. Imagine that. The realization that YOU of all people have every right
to create because you yourself are a creation. You were made from Creation.
That is amazing. It’s in our DNA, passed on from generation to generation for
thousands of years. Bet you never thought of it that way. You can't stop
creating. It’s who you are. How can you cut yourself off from your own heart?
You would eventually die a very slow death. Maybe that's why you feel numb and
empty. desensitized to what's happening around you. Lost. But all you need to
do is reclaim your rightful place. No one can tell you otherwise. Get back on
that path to who you are. Every step you take will bring you closer home. Create through the mess, create through the pain, create through the mundane, create through the work, create when it rains, create when it shines, create when you're happy, create when you're sad....point is, just Create.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

<div>
<u style="text-align: center;"><br /></u>
<div style="text-align: left;">
How many times have you been banging against the same door only for it to never open? Or, you don’t want to accept that, then try to force your way onto things. You grab whatever “crowbar” you’re working with and try to pry that creative door open so you can make it work just to get inside. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
(Exasperated sigh…) </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
This is how I feel sometimes when working on something over and over and over again and it’s just not coming together, no matter what I do. Where do you go from there? Can you take a deep breath, step back and let go? Sometimes I find that hard to do and continue bulldozing through. Do you even know when to let go and walk away? Or, when you need to put distance between you and what you’re working on and return sometime later? I don’t always know and keep running that lap to nowhere with end results of shaky legs and pure exhaustion. No benefits.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I try to experiment on top of the mistakes. Sometimes that work. Sometimes it doesn’t and becomes a monumental disaster. I read somewhere we never fail. We only discover new ways how NOT to do something. I like that. I give space for these words to roam around in my mind, freely fromping around in their robe and slippers, kicking back, just “being”, relaxing, no care in the world, completely centered in itself. It seems to ease the frustration that is pressure cooker-ing (yes, I know it’s not a word but one of my many that I make up) inside me anytime those disaster gremlins are hanging around. Or, as Elizabeth Gilbert shares in her book, Big Magic, Inspiration is an actual identity, not much different from you or me, and says Inspiration just didn’t come to visit you on that day. When Inspiration does visit, magic happens. You can see it and feel it. It’s partnering with you.</div>

The Gnome Project is about one woman’s journey in creating a daily practice to get unstuck from the habit of not finishing what she starts, only to discover the many gifts it brings along the way and how it anchors your life. It’s that golden thread that weaves your days together. It becomes a comforter and a cathartic channel to purge your emotions. It is your challenger and holds you to task. In the end, it’s what you turn to and say, despite everything that happened, I accomplished this one thing today.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
This book was very interesting and held my attention so much so, I finished it in a day. It made me think about my own daily practices and the comforts they bring. It also inspired me to try creating my own journey for a year and see what yields from my harvest. Regardless of what daily practice you choose, her choice to make a gnome a day for a year was intriguing. There is something about gnomes that bring mystery and fun to the forefront. Definitely made the book a lot more interesting because it wasn’t filled with scientific data and jargon and blah blah blah stuff that bores you to death. Fun read. I do plan on reading it again. Hope she releases another book similar to this style.</div>

I have a bag of UFOs sitting at the bottom of my closet with
all the intentions on finishing them. This was a rather large series with some
side projects in between that was abandoned for a variety of reasons. This
month, I decided to begin pulling them out, one by one, and completing each of
them within a 30 day period. <o:p></o:p></div>

project</li>

Some doll makers create beautiful dolls. They inspire me. I
would like to create like them. I can create like them. But find, I don’t want
to create like them. I let my hands move and my heart dictate what sings to it.
Channel. Channel. Channel. That’s it. It’s okay if it’s not good. (Okay, I want
it to be good but it’s more important to just create. Everything we make cannot be
good. We all must make crap. It’s part of experimenting, evolving, learning, purging and
growing. I think some pieces I do turn out well while others are Oh My God.
Ouch. I wince to look at it.)<o:p></o:p></div>

<div class="MsoNormal">
That brings me back to this piece...A lot of people at work have been talking about how crazy busy
everything has gotten lately, how much they have to do and how tense and rude people have been.
That is what inspired me in this piece and to attach SARK’s quote to the back
of it. It’s a reminder to anyone who reads it. At the top of the quote, SARK
lists an example of a typical running to-do list: (make more money, laundry,
hurry up, bills, lose weight)<o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
Then, the quote continues to remind us to let go of everything and let it all float by, stop doing, just for now. This is why I call this piece “The
Resting Angel”. Take a step back and breathe. Let it all go.<o:p></o:p></div>

"When a piece of art from an artist is bought, it is not just an object. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
It contains hundreds of hours of errors and experimentation, </div>

<div style="text-align: left;">
<i>As I'm making my dolls, I don't know where they come from but sometimes, I step back and see reflections of myself. Although that was never my intention, I recognize a memory, an experience, a personality trait, a physical pain, an emotion that gets translated into this being made from </i><i>cloth, clay, paints, beads and trim. How it all comes together is a mystery because I'm lost in the process and stop when I hear that inner voice tells me, "Stop". </i></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<i><br /></i></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<i>S</i><i>eeds planted from the past that I may not even have ever known were sowed but discover them pushing forward as heads of flowers through deep, rich black soil that feels so alive in my hands when I garden. It smells fresh and rich, ALIVE! I love seeing the brightly colored, new growth peeking through the darkness, growing tall and strong. </i></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<i><br /></i></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<i>Even though there looks like there was nothing there and now there is, what lies beneath the fertile soil and depths of our soul? Even the crap in our lives acts as fertilizer, making for some fantastic grounds to reap a harvest. But who wants hardship? Pain? I don't. But I do recognize the gifts that can come from them if we allow ourselves to receive. </i></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<i><br /></i></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<i>Something where there was once nothing. New growth...they are always surprises for me and if I'm expecting my seeds to sprout, I always hurry with anticipation to see the first signs of bright green life peeking through that blackness. It still amazes me how our experiences tran</i><i>sform themselves into these things, these objects, what we create from them. </i></div>

Apparently, voodoo dolls can also be used for good. There are many ways to make one of these dolls. In fact, <a href="http://www.wikihow.com/Make-a-Voodoo-Doll">one method</a> uses natural items and is identical to the way you make a nature doll or spirit doll, or what I copyrighted as Blessing Dolls. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I've been wanting to make voodoo dolls for quite some time now but don't like the idea of what they represent. I am not a follower of voodoo and don't know much more than mainstream society's view of them. Apparently, they can also be used for very positi. As a doll artist, I get inspired by many things and those experiences will trigger a doll or series of dolls that I want to create. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I see, read and enjoy learning about the different types of dolls made throughout history...for different religions, countries and cultures. I don't care for anything that sends out negative energies to hurt or manipulate someone. (Please note, I am not a connoisseur of voodoo or the dolls and don't know everything they represent. I</div>

This idea of making voodoll dolls hasn't gone away for me but I wanted to put a spin on them...to make them postive, not scary, playful, quirky, odd, unique, something different than your average voodoo doll. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Lo and behold, other artists have the same idea I do! </div>

From the very little research I've done, voodoo dolls can also be used for good. See <a href="http://www.voodoo-doll.org/index.html">Voodoo Doll.</a> Either way, it still doesn't sit right with me. I don't like the idea of sending negative energies to someone or manipulating them to do what I want. </div>

<div style="text-align: left;">
Well, this is an update since I last posted it several days ago. I stumbled across <a href="http://www.aforartistic.com/home">A For Artistic</a> recently and fell in love with this site. I am now subscribed to their eMag for 2014 and 2015 and am impressed with what they offer. In their latest issue, Spring 2015, there is an article by Adele Sciortino called, "Setting Your Creative Goals". It works perfectly with their free Creative Planner, which I have been using daily, by the way. If you haven't checked it out, please do and download it today. Its not a regular planner. It ignites that creative spark in us and gets us on a regular creative practice, which I so desperately needed. Don't want anymore UFOs around before my next brainstorm of ideas bursts forth!<br />
<br />
Oh, and did I mention, its not a big bulky planner to use with lots and lots of pages which can be overwhelming, the layout is very eye pleasing, and the cover is so bright and colorful, too, with more creative inspiration to make your sparks fly inside! You can download right from home. See below for the link and let me know what you think...if it works for you.<br />

I've been working on making my own creative planner and just happened to stumble upon this one from <a href="http://www.aforartistic.com/home">A For Artistic</a> and thought I'd give it a try. Very colorful. Haven't gone through it yet but wanted to let you know its out there.</div>

My "Blessing Dolls" are based on spirit dolls. They contain secret messages and special symbols tucked inside that bring the owner of the dolls blessings. </div>
<br />
This one was specially made for someone. She is a love goddess. The picture is of Quan Yin who is most notably known as the goddess of compassion but she also helps with receiving and accepting love. The message and totems placed inside build on this and act as a beacon to radiate its meaning. Quan Yin can be seen with a red mist or red sparkles surrounding her. This is represented in the fabric. Although it is not apparent in the photos, the fabric is a deep red with red sparkly shimmer to it. Additional spiritual symbols are adorned on her bodice.<br />

What is a genie supposed to look like? Despite flipping through a ton of photos for inspiration and ideas, I continued to envision a lavender Smurfette-style genie, wearing a variety of fresh Sping-green fabrics, dyed from the different plants and flowers she hand picks along her hikes in the forest. Her favorite activity is playing between the candy coated mushroom caps and chocolate pine cones that fell from the cocoa trees and dipping her toes in the chilled waters of the creek with her other Smurfette friends.<br />
<br />
Why is she purple and not blue like the other Smurfs? Her family are direct decedents of world-renowned harvesters from The Lavender Valley of France. After harvesting lavender for decades, their skin slowly became dyed from blue to their now purple color and their bodies give off a wonderful lavender scent from absorbing the oils from the flowers. These physical changes became permanent and continue to be past on throughout the generations.<br />
<br />
So, just remember, if you ever catch an unexpected hint of that wonderful lavender scent, one of these genies just might be nearby. Make a wish and wait for it to come true!</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The Goddess Dolls Online Yahoo Group had an Altered Barbie Challenge this past month and boy, was this a challenge for me. This was my very first time altering a Barbie and I didn't really know where to begin or what to do. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
After researching techniques to learn how to "properly" alter them and what other people were doing in this area for inspiration and guidance, I tried several attempts but miserably failed each time. Nothing I did seemed to work.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Since the deadline was fast approaching, I instead thought about falling back on some of my own methods to see what I could come up with. Still, failure after failure. Nothing was coming out the way I had planned. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Finally, I thought, okay, I gotta something out and was going to turn her into an icicle doll which was working out well. In the end, I turned away from this because it seemed more like cheating since she was covered up completely with fur/feathers instead of actually being altered. That wasn't the purpose of the challenge.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Then, I decided to play. So frustrated by this time. Let's make a mess. Spread out the paints. Bring out the glitter...must have glitter! What doo-dads do we have to use and let's throw it all on. I call this my <b>"Splatter Method" Technique</b> which I have used for many years and have always found great success with it. Both Barbie and I were covered in paint, washes, glitter, and everything else that we touched. Basically, we were rolling in the stuff.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
At first, she looked atrocious to say the least. I discovered years ago, even though something can look disastrous when you're in the process, stick with it because it might turn out pretty good. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This is what I came up with. </div>

Ironically, some of the words on her wings were smeared with paint and almost form a sentence. Those are: daily, energy, around, that, you, congruence (come together). I interpreted it as the daily energies that are around can affect how you come together. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Then, I noticed little splatters of paint right next to another 3 words but they are not highlighted like the ones above, They looked like little asterisk and underline marks. These words were: judge ourselves and breakdown. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Opposing messages. When we judge ourselves, there's a breakdown in our spirits. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
But, when I put the two messages together, there's a connection. The daily energies that are around can affect how you come together and how you're feeling about yourself, positively or negatively. Did you ever walk into a room or talk with someone and feel completely drained? Or, feel energized and really good? </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
This reminded me to be watchful who I bring into my life and make a conscious effort to live in a positive environment. Life and days are just too short. As we get older, time continues to fly by in the blink of an eye. You look up and ask, "What happened? Where did all that time go?"</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Aside from that, I love African and tribal art. It is so inspiring. The colors, the patterns, the textures, the symbols, the earthy element, everything about it touches me deeply.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
At the end, the piece reminded me of something shamanic which is how the name was derived. As the faces were being cut out and reflecting on her painted mask, the words, "My Shaman Team" kept coming to mind.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">

"Ariel, the Bird Goddess: Element of Air</div>
<br />She does not belong to an actual mythology, but to mythology as a whole due to her long past. She first appeared in the Paleolithic Era, her image carved onto totems. <br /><br />Her worship achieved equivalent importance to the Great Earth Mother. <br /><br />Throughout classical antiquity, She appeared linked to the worship of many important goddesses in the form of their sacred bird companion and alter-ego, e.g. <br /><ul style="text-align: left;">
<li>Aphrodite's dove</li>
<li>Athena's owl</li>
<li>Saraswati's peacock</li>
</ul>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Her gift to the magical arts was a form of divination called Ornithomancy. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br />Keeper of the powers of Air, She possesses multiple aspects: </div>
<ul style="text-align: left;">
<li>the Maiden whose singing brings the dawn</li>
<li>the Mother of Winds who hatches the Cosmic Egg</li>
<li>the dark-winged Crone who guides spirits of the newly dead into the heavenly afterlife</li>
</ul>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
These different aspects are often connected to the kind of bird that attends Her. </div>

Detailed View</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br />From the songbirds of the Celtic Rhiannon to the vultures of Egyptian Mut, the Bird Goddess brings messages and omens on swift wings from the Otherworld. <br /><br />She covers Her children with the soft feathers of Her nurturing breast and feeds their bodies with Her sacred Eostre eggs. <br /><br />Souls are weighed against the feather of Her Truth and Her keen eye sees through all deceptions into the Future. <br /><br />Her sharp talons and beak tear away the gross material forms, allowing the imagination to soar free. <br /><br />She is the archetypal antecedent of the Valkyrie and the Christian Guardian Angel, as well as familiar fairy tale heroines, such as the Swan Princess and the Lady Hawk. <br /><br />Her names come from all over the world: </div>
<ul style="text-align: left;">
<li>Sumerian Lilith</li>
<li>Carthaginian Tanith</li>
<li>Saxon Ostara</li>
<li>Celtic Morrigan</li>
<li>Polynesian Tuli</li>
<li>Greek Leda</li>
<li>Finnish Lunonatar</li>
<li>Haitian Marionette</li>
<li>Hopi Crow Woman</li>

If you think you don't know how to make dolls, well, I'm telling you right here and now, you do. <br />
<br />
Aside from there being countless numbers of books and other excellent resources for you to turn to for step-by-step instructions, you also have the best intuitive teacher out there.<br />
<br />
YOU.<br />
<br />
That two and three year old baby inside of you. You knew how to draw then. You didn't know any different. You followed your own process, giving freely of yourself...exploring the blank pages and walls and...in my case, the washing machine with your crayons. Within those baby scribbles are images into other worlds just waiting to be brought out into 3-dimensional form.<br />
<br />
Get back to your roots and try this method again. This is my all time favorite method I use regulary and "developed" myself years ago to break out of blocks and self-imposed blocks I ridiculously placed on myself.<br />
<br />
I use the biggest sketch pad I can find in the art and craft store. The really HUUUGGGGE ones and place it on the floor.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhV4K3ka-Z8D4B4hbS1mof4hvFqTOi8fs1UgVReVx1y72S2QJgQx0pIWXyKoQUxFZnpQn1MXUqQqOkWRAVFWJcfhWLVle_2v4FVbx2Jcl3S1Dx9aw0itRm4uUt9ks91ANIhp0tXk-U7NOk/s1600/images+(1).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhV4K3ka-Z8D4B4hbS1mof4hvFqTOi8fs1UgVReVx1y72S2QJgQx0pIWXyKoQUxFZnpQn1MXUqQqOkWRAVFWJcfhWLVle_2v4FVbx2Jcl3S1Dx9aw0itRm4uUt9ks91ANIhp0tXk-U7NOk/s1600/images+(1).jpg" height="292" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: right;">
Free clipart from <a href="http://www.findfreegraphics.com/image-80/scribble.htm" target="_blank">Findfreegraphics</a></div>
<br />
<br />
I get down and with my eyes closed, I start scribbling all over the page in wide circles and lines...all over, to the very edges. Work that arm. Sweeeep across the page. Circles and turns and dives with whatever writing instrument I feel like using. I stop when it FEELS right. This process usually takes a couple of minutes. No sharpies at this point. DON'T PEEK NOW while you're doing this!<br />
<br />
When you're done, open your eyes. Stand up straight and look down. Do you see any images that pop out at you?<br />
<br />
Walk to the other side. Look down at what you did. Do you see anything popping out at you from this side?<br />
<br />
Do the same for the next 2 sides. <br />
<br />
Take the images that pop out at you the strongest and with a really big black thick Sharpie marker, outline the images that call to you. <br />
<br />
More than one image will most likely overlap with others. When this happens, I get a piece of copy paper and trace over it. Sometimes, I may have to tape several sheets together if the image is large. <br />
<br />
You may also want to use different colored thick Sharpie makers to trace out the different images to keep them separated so you can distinguish between them.<br />
<br />
Then, cut everything out.<br />
<br />
Now the fun begins. Yes, the fun!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgAth-stN5YB17-acb8mKSHQktTvminKalx9NY6V6hGzW2BaWzESuMXEXAzUlIXcSVRPxcdp7AzDBMPYxfEQiqcVpTVFGEa2aMHfNu8a8uxEhgwdNtPWSOGKgjhCcYjwEIamuOAIJ33XDU/s1600/download.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgAth-stN5YB17-acb8mKSHQktTvminKalx9NY6V6hGzW2BaWzESuMXEXAzUlIXcSVRPxcdp7AzDBMPYxfEQiqcVpTVFGEa2aMHfNu8a8uxEhgwdNtPWSOGKgjhCcYjwEIamuOAIJ33XDU/s1600/download.jpg" height="200" width="200" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: right;">
Free Clipart from <a href="http://www.clker.com/clipart-eye-vector-free.html" target="_blank">clker</a></div>
<br />
<br />
Take a big black button. Use this as an eye. Place it on different parts of the images you cut out to see where you want the face is. You'd be surprised at where a face can show up. I once put an eye where I thought the butt to be but it worked great as a face instead!<br />
<br />
Once you have your head or heady/body, start playing with the other pieces to see what could be arms and legs, or just a big hand or oddly shaped foot. <br />
<br />
Don't forget to label the sections what they are so you won't forget afterwards, Believe me, they won't look like anything when you first trace and cut them out. But its the placement of the eye and playing with the pieces when everything comes together.<br />
<br />
Okay, now you have your pattern pieces. Get your fabric. Any kind and sew your doll together. If you don't like the fabric, don't worry about it. Use gesso to cover it up and repaint it whatever color you like.<br />
<br />
You can use a glue gun (if gessoed) or fabric glue to add other pieces of fabric to it. Wrap trim and fibers and colorful yarn around it, adhering it along the way. Add beads, faux flowers, leaves, anything you want etc.<br />
<br />
Voila! You have your very own designed art doll. And it WILL be grand! Trust me. Trust the process. Keep going until it is finished, even if you think it looks like a mess. Its what you do with it once its sewn together, the embellishing that pulls it together!<br />
<br />
If you try this, share you photos with us!</div>

Its the challenge to see how a worthless item can be turned into something interesting and beautiful. </span></div>

<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 1.22em;">Ariana speaks directly to that. She was created with lots of broken parts that I recycled and resurfaced. </span></div>

<li><span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 1.22em;">The body is from a broken jewelry bodice. </span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 1.22em;">Swag across her body is a piece of broken bra jewelry</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 1.22em;">The wings are a petticoat from a Victorian doll.</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 1.22em;">The arms are from a broken nutcracker.</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 1.22em;">The legs are little wooden candlestick pieces. </span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 1.22em;">The antennas are chenille stems and pompoms (I actually handmade them. I made an entire box of pom poms just to use up yarn.)</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 1.22em;">The base is from a broken art doll. I added faux moss, funky trim, a little faux broken egg to match the butterfly and the nest is made from Easter basket grass)</span></li>
